Evidence and Property Management

Evidence and Property Management System

A Evidence and Property Management System should efficiently label, track the storage of evidence and property, and maintain the Chain-of-Custody. In an increasingly electronic age, storage systems need to be increasingly flexible to meet agency needs and share information with a broad range of software. At the end of the day the system need to be secure and simple enough to use. Digital Warehouse meets all of these needs and many more.

Security

Digital warehouse continually tracks the location of an item in storage and who checks it in and out, maintaining the Chain-of-Custody. The system provides complete history reports for each item, and with our powerful search capability it can quickly find items, items inside of items, and groups of items.

With custom user roles and security levels Digital Warehouse is flexible to allow different departments and users access to different data and features.

Law Enforcment Features

Besides Chain-of-Custody, some of the import features of Digital Warehouse for evidence and property management are:

Scheduled Audits. The system can provide a random list of items for spot checks and audits. Or a task can be scheduled to generate the random list at set time intervals.
Quickly locate stored evidence, regardless of storage algorithm. Select from several storage algorithms, to maximize storage, security, and grouping by item type.
Disposition. The system will maintain timestamps of when property is eligible for sale or destruction. Automatic alerts can be setup to notify clerks when property is eligible for release or sale.
Prosecutors can review items and grant or deny approval of disposition requests made by the law enforcement agency.
Store digital crime scene photos or photos of items prior to disposition. The system can store any electronic document type. By adding images of evidence and property, users can verify evidence before checking it out, and long after the physical evidence is not longer in storage.
